Scrambler
1960
60th Anniversary Edition
Scrambler is a classic spinning ride.
The 1950's was a traditional period for Cedar point. In the early 1950's the park was really falling apart. In 1956 Cedar Point was bought by local business men with plans to close the resort and turn it into housing development. After protesting, the new owners decide to turn Cedar Point into ''The Disneyland of the Mid-west." Cedar Point added Cadillac Cars in 1958. Turnpike Cars and the Monorail were added in 1959.
1960 would continue with the plan for the new Cedar Point.
Scrambler has been in the same location since the ride opened in 1960.
When the ride opened the location was considered to be in the back of the park. To get to Scrambler in the 1960's you would have to walk across the road. Over the years the park would expand around the ride, making its location the middle of the park. |
