Balloon Race is a Zamperla samba balloon that is located in Camp Snoopy at Cedar Point. 

On Friday, November 13, 1998, Cedar Point announced it would open Camp Snoopy for the 1999 season. The new kids area would have 7 rides, a food stand, a new outdoor theater, and a new roller coaster.

​The area would be themed to the Peanuts franchise. 

Balloon Race opened on Sunday, May 9, 1999.

Balloon Race is located between Camp Bus and Snake River Expedition. It is also located across from  Charlie Brown's Wind Up. 

Balloon Race is a samba balloon ride that was built by Zamperla. Zamperla is known for making quality kids rides. 

Balloon Race is a great ride the entire family can ride together. 

Camp Bus is very similar to Flying Ace Balloon Race. It is located in Planet Snoopy. Flying Ace Balloon Race opened in 2008. They are the same ride model, that features similar themes.

Balloon Race is a great ride for the entire family to enjoy together! 

Theming

Balloon Race is a lightly-themed ride. The ride is painted in bright colors featuring blue, red, purple, and yellow.

The ride has a really cool centerpiece that features Charlie Brown and Lucy who are in their own hot air balloon. 

Balloon Race features different color balloons so that riders can choose what color they would like to represent. 

Balloon Race is a very fun-looking ride. It looks really nice and it's very inviting for the entire family! 

Ride Experience 

The ride experience for Balloon Race begins when riders get in line for the ride. 

​The line for Balloon Race is usually 5-10 minutes. If the park is busy the line can be 15 minutes long. 

Riders are loaded into one of eight balloons. Once the ride is loaded the ride starts. 

 Balloon Race begins by spinning in a clockwise circle. Riders are able to to spin their ballons as fast as they wish. 

The ride slowly starts to raise in the air. 

The entire ride begins to tilt with one side in the air! This creates a really cool and unique feeling. 

The more you spin your ballon the more dizzy you will become. Balloon Race gives you a really cool view of Camp Snoopy. 

Families just love this ride. It is really fun and it is sure to make everyone laugh and giggle. 

The ride begins to slow down and stops tilting. 

Flying Ace Balloon Race then spins riders to a stop. Once the ride stops, riders exit the ride. 

A Great Fit For Cedar Point 

 Balloon Race is a great family ride. It gives children the opportunity to experience rides with the parents for the first time. 

Riders laugh and giggle as they enjoy Balloon Race together. It is something special for everyone in the family. 

Balloon Race is a great stepping-stone ride. It is in between the Kiddy Kingdomrides and the Matterhorn and Atomic Scrambler style experiences. 

Balloon Race was a really good addition to Cedar Point. It helped round out the park's collection of rides. 

Balloon Race has been thrilling guests at Cedar Point for 25 years. Guests love this ride. 

Zamperla has built a ton of samba balloons over the years. They are all very popular in all of the parks they are in. 

Riders must be 36 inches tall to ride Balloon Race alone. Riders less than 36 inches tall can ride with a supervising companion. Hand-held infants are not allowed on this ride.
