Dragster H20 opened in 2012 as the first water slide added to Soak City since 2004.

|
To name the new slide, Cedar Point held a contest and Dragster H20 was chosen by park guest.
|
|
|
|
|
|
In 2017, Soak City was renamed, re-themed to Cedar Point Shores Water park. As part of this makeover, all of the water rides in the existing water park were also renamed and re-themed. Dragster H20 was re-named and re-themed Riptide Raceway.
Riptide Raceway retained the rides racing theme with a new name. The ride has the same color scheme as well. |

Riptide Raceway was built and designed by White Water West. White Water West is the manufacture of all the water slides at Cedar Point Shores and most of the Cedar Fair parks around the country.

Riptide Raceway has a very nice entrance plaza. It gives the impression that you are on a beach resort.

|
To ride Riptide Raceway, riders climb 45 feet to the top. At the top of the slide, you get a great view of the beach, Cedar Point and Cedar Point Shores Water park.

Riders chose one of six slides to ride in. They lay on their stomach and are on top of a mat.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Riptide Raceway sends riders into a complete helix that builds up speed to end the ride. While in the helix, riders are in complete darkness.
|
|
|
|
|
The slide relies on pure gravity to build up speed.
|
|
|
|
After coming out of darkness, riders then go flying into a really cool double down hill.
|
|
|
|
|
|
The ride then ends with riders landing in a splash down lane.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Riptide Raceway is a great ride for the family to ride together! Riders must be 42 inches tall to experience the ride.
