Cedar Point's first ride opened in 1892 Today, Cedar Point is home to 71 of the rides. Cedar Point has more rides then most other parks out there.

Adventure Cove
1997-2016

Adventure Cove was an activity pool located in Soak City Water Park. In 2017 the attraction became Great Lakes Cove.

Antique Cars
1969

 Take a trip through Frontier Town on an old set of cars! On this ride, children can drive their parents around the track! Antique Cars opened in 1969. On Antique Cars, riders take a relaxing ride in the old west.

Avalanche Run
1985-1989

Avalanche Run was at Cedar Point from 1985-1989, It was replaced with the Disaster Transport indoor roller coaster in 1990. Avalanche Run was a bob sled roller coaster. This classic family space adventure was removed from the park in 2012, in order to make way for Gatekeeper.

Balloon Race
1999

Spin and swirl on the colorful Balloon Race ride with Charlie Brown and Lucy!

Bayern Curve
1970-1984

Bayern Vurve was a spinning ride added to Cedar Point in 1970 for the parks 100th anniversary expansion. Riders were loaded into small cars and spun around in a circle over a small hill. Rhe ride was removed at the end of the 1984 season to make room for WildCat.

Bear Country Railroad
1992-1998

Bear Country was a small train ride that was located on the outside  of Berenstein Bear Country. In 1999 the attraction was renamed Peanuts Express.

Blue Streak
1964

Blue Streak is Cedar Point oldest operating roller coaster. It opened in 1964. named after the local high school foot ball team, Blue Streak is a classic ride that keeps thrilling riders. Blue Streak is 78 feet tall and reaches speeds of 40 MPH.  

Body Slides

Breakers Bay Wave Pool

Breakers Bay Wave Pool opened in 1997 as Soak City's Wave Pool. The attraction was always very popular and was one of the only heated pools in Soak City. In 2017, Soak City was converted into Breakwater Bay.

Breakwater Bay

Breakwater Bay is a huge 6 foot deep wave pool! Guest can chill out in the adventurous wave pool! This pool is heated so even on the colder day it is fun to play in!

Broadway Trip
1964-1964

Broadway Trip was a portable indoor style roller coaster located near Kiddy Kingdom..

Bubbles Swim Up Bar and Pool
1997-2016

Bubbles Swim up Bar was an adult swim up bar located in Soak City Water Park. The area also featured a hot tub.

Bumper Boats
1993-2013

Bumper Boats opened at Cedar Point in 1993 in the Kiddy Kingdom section of the park. The ride was a water boat that was similar to bumper cars. In 1998 the ride was relocated to Gemini Children's Area where it received a new in ground pool. The ride closed in 2013 to make room for the new Gemini Midway renovation.

Cadillac Cars
1958

Take a ride on a Cadillac with the Cadillac Cars! These have been a family favorite since 1958. This ride is located on the Main Midway of Cedar Point!

Calypso
1963-1969

Calypso opened at Cedar Point in 1963. The ride was relocated many times in the 1960's. 1969 was Calypso's last year as Calypso. The ride was re-themed and renamed Tiki Twirl in 1970. Tiki Twirl was removed in 1984.

Calypso
1970-2014

Calypso opened at Cedar Point in 1970. When the ride first opened, it had a ton of theming. Over the years the ride was moved a few times. As the ride was moved it was lose more theming each time. Calypso was a spinning family ride. In 2015, Calypso was renamed, relocated and re-themed to the current Tiki Tiwrl.

Camp Bus
1999

Take a trip to Camp on the Camp Bus! Riders are taken up and down in a circular motion while sitting inside the bus!

Castaway Bay Wave Pool

The Castaway Bay Wave Pool is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the water!

Caterpillar
1924-1961

Caterpillar was a family spinning ride. The ride featured a canvas that covered riders as the ride got to full speed. The ride closed in 1961 to make room for the new midway expansion.

Cedar Classic Miniature Golf
1961-1991

Cedar Classic Miniature Golf opened at Cedar Point in 1961 near the coliseum. In 1970 the attraction was relocated next to Sky Slide. It was removed in 1991 to make room for a Bernstein Bear Country expansion.

Cedar Creek
2017

Cedar Creek is a great family lazy river ride! Riders float around a man made river on tubes.

Cedar Creek Mine Ride
1969

This runaway Mine Train will run you through mines and lagoons. Mine Ride takes its riders up 48 feet not once but twice! Just because it's Cedar Point's second oldest coaster doesn't mean it's not thrilling. Mine Ride is an experience like no other!

Cedar Downs Racing Derby
1967

This fast carousel is a fun and enjoyable ride. Cedar Downs was restored in 1967, and moved to Cedar Point and was placed on the Main Midway. In 2013, Cedar Downs received a much needed  facelift. Cedar Downs is themed to a horse race! 

Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad
1963

  All Aboard! The Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad is a train ride that will take you around the back half of the park. During the ride you will encounter villages of skeletons! The Cedar Point and Lake Erie Railroad has been a family favorite since 1963!

Challenge Golf
1992-2016

Challenge Golf opened in 1992 in the newly formed Challenge Park. Challenge Golf was a set of mini golf courses. The attraction was demolished in 2016 to make room for the new Hotel Breakers expansion for 2018.

Challenge Racing
1992-2016

Picture
Challenge Racing opened in 1992 as part of the new Challenge Park area. After racing for 23 years, Challenge Racing was closed forever in 2015.

Chaos Thrill Ride was at Cedar Point from 1997-2010.  Even thou Chaos is no longer operating at Cedar Point, it was one of a few rides of its kind to last as long as it did.  Chaos was replaced by three point challenge.

Corkscrew

The triple looping Corkscrew was Cedar Point's first roller coaster to break world records. Corkscrew was the first roller coaster in the world to flip riders upside down 3 times and twice over a midway! Corkscrew's trains are red, white, and blue.

Creature Cove
2004

Creature Cove is a family activity pool that has creatures to swim with and basketballs!

Crosscurrent
2017

Crosscurrent is a set of tube slides located in the older section of the water park.

Cyclone
1929-1951

Cyclone was added to Cedar Point in 1929. It was a twisted style wooden roller coaster built by Harry Traver. When Cyclone was at Cedar Point it was the largest roller coaster at the park. IT would be the last addition to the park added by G.A. Boeckling. The ride closed in 1951 because over the years it had fallen into disrepair.

Demon Drop
1983-2009

Demon Drop opened in 1983 and operated until 2009.  In 2011 it was replaced with Ocean Motion, Demon Drop currently operates at Dorney Park as Demon Drop.

Fun Fact: Demon Drop was the second tallest ride at Cedar Point from 1983 until 1988.

Dip the Dips Scenic Railway

Dip the Dips Scenic Railway opened in 1908. It was 33 feet high and was located in the center of the Amusement Circle. The ride closed in 1917 and was replaced with Leap Frog Railway. 

Disaster Transport
1990-2012

Opening in 1990, as Cedar Point's only roller coaster to ever operate entirely inside a building, Disaster Transport took its riders into space and places unknown for 22 seasons. This ride first opened in 1985 as Avalanche Run before being enclosed as Disaster Transport.  This ride is missed, but GateKeeper is an amazing ride that is living on in its location.


Dodgem #1
1960-2001

Dodgem #1 opened in 1960 near the current Jack Aldrich Theater. In 1977 the ride was moved to the new Corkscrew midway where it was given a new building. The ride closed in 2001 to make room for Top Thrill Dragster. The ride was relocated to Michigan's Adventure in 2002.

Dodgem #2
1970

Dodgem #2 opened in 1970 as part of the new Million Dollar Midway Expansion. The ride was a classic bumper car ride. In 2015 the ride was relocated to its current location to make room for maXair. This is the current Dodgem ride in the park.

This racing coaster is fun to ride. This coaster was also Cedar Point's first roller coaster to break the record of being the tallest and fastest coaster in the world! Since 1978, Cedar Point has broken this record 3 more times!

Giant Wheel

​Giant Wheel takes riders up 150 feet and gives them beautiful views of Cedar Point, Lake Erie, the Cedar Point Resorts and the Cedar Point beach.  Giant Wheel is the fourth Ferris Wheel to ever be installed at Cedar Point and it is the largest!

Great Lakes Cove

Great lakes Cove is a great adventurous pool or families to play around in. There are different animals and stuff guest can swim on.

Grotto Spa is the indoor outdoor hot tubes at Castaway Bay Indoor Water Park. Grotto Spa is a set of hot tubs that are both inside the park and outside. Grotto Spa is a really cool experience!

Helicopters opened at Cedar Point in 1970. This kids ride is located in Kiddy Kingdom. Helicopters is a really cool ride because riders can choose their own ride experience!

Iron Dragon
1987

Iron Dragon opened at Cedar Point in 1987. Iron Dragon is a suspended roller coaster that takes riders over ponds and thru the woods. When it opened it was the first successful suspended roller coaster in the mid west.

Joe Cool's Dodgem School
2015

In 2015 Krazy Kars was moved to Planet Snoopy where it was renamed and re-themed Joe Cool's Dodgem School. Joe Cool's Dodgem School is a cool kiddie bumper car ride.

Jr. Gemini

Jr. Gemini opened at Cedar Point in 1979. Jr. Gemini was Cedar Point's first children's roller coaster. THe roller coaster was the first one built by Intamin who would later go on to build rides like Millennium Force and Maverick. In 2014 Jr. Gemini was transformed into Wilderness Run.

In 2017 RipCord was moved from Challenge Park to the Frontier Trail where it was renamed, repainted and re-themed as Professor Delbert's Frontier Fling.

Satellite Jets

Satellite Jets opened in 1961 in the middle of the Main Midway. When the ride arrived at Cedar Point it had no instructions on how to put it together. 

Satellite Jets was a spinning rocket ride. Guest could control how high they went. 

Satellite Jets were eventually located to the area currently occupied by Valravn Gifts. The ride closed in 1986.

Scamper

Schwabinchen was a german themed family ride that sinned around and up and down on a platform.  The ride was sold to Strikers Grove in Ohio but never reopened.

Switchback Railway opened in 1892. It was Cedar Point's very first roller coaster. The ride had no lift hill so the car had to be used back thru the ride by hand. Switchback Railway closed in 1896.

Tadpole Town

Tadpole Town opened as Soak City's first kids area in 1990. The area featured simple small slides and spray things for kids. In 2017 it was re-themed as part of the new Cedar Point Shores Waterpark. 

The Sandlot

The Sandlot is a relaxing area where guest can hang out and play volleyball!

Three-Way Figure Eight Roller Toboggan
​1902-1909

Three-Way figure Eight Roller Toboggan was a wooden roller coaster that was located in the old Amusement Circle. It opened in 1902 and closed in 1909.

Thunder Canyon

1986

Thunder Canyon is an Intamin river raft ride located on Frontier Trail. Opening in 1986, Thunder Canyon is Cedar Point's oldest existing water ride. Thunder Canyon takes riders thru a canyons and under waterfalls. Thunder Canyon is a very fun ride. This ride simulates what is is like to go river rafting!

Tiki Twirl

In 1970 Cedar Point transformed the original Calypso into Tiki Twirl. The ride was located at the end of the Main Midway. The ride spun around on a tilted platform. The ride closed in 1984 to make room for Matterhorn. 

Tiki Twirl
2015

Tiki Twirl is a very fun and relaxing ride! Opening in 1970 as Calypso, In 2015 the ride was relocated near Giant Wheel. Also in 2015, the ride was renamed and re themed. 

Tilt-a-Whirl

Tilt-a-Whirl was a classic amusement park ride that was located on Cedar Point's Main Midway. 

Tilt-a-Whirl

Tilt-a-Whirl was added to Cedar Point in 1999 to the new Camp Snoopy section of the park. The ride was a classics Tilt-a-Whirl ride. After 19 years of operation, it was decided to change the ride experience. Tilt-a-Whirl was transformed into Linus' Beetle Bugs. for the 2019 season to better fit the theme of Camp Snoopy.

Top Thrill Dragster

Cedar Point's tallest and fastest roller coaster. Top Thrill Dragster is the world's second tallest roller coaster, and is one of the fastest in the world.  This ride includes 2 450 degree turns!

Trabant 
​1966-1990

Picture
Trabant was a spinning ride that was located on the Main Midway. It opened in 1966 and remained a park favorite until it was removed in 1990.

Troika
​
1976

Troika will spin and swoop its riders above the midway. Opening in 1976, Troika was moved to its current location in 2003; by the beach.

Tropical Tube Slides

Every great water park has to have body slides!

Tube Slides
​1988-2016

Tube Slides opened in 1988 in Soak City Tube Slides was one of the original slides in the park. For the 2017 season it was re-themed to fit in with he new Cedar Point Shores Waterpark. 

Tumble Bug
​1934-1963

Picture
Tumble Bug opened at Cedar Point in 1934. The ride took riders in a circle and went up and down small hills. The ride was very popular when it opened. It was removed after the 1963 season due to age. 

Valravn
​
2016

This massive Dive coaster opened in 2016 as the tallest and fastest of its kind in the world! Valravn and Cedar Point broke 10 world records when it opened. Valravn takes riders up 223 feet and drops 214 feet at a 90 degree angle! Valravn is a great ride! 

Vertigo
​2001-2001

Vertigo opened in August 2001 in the Challenge Park section of the park. Vertigo was a sling shot connect ride that featured tilted seats. The ride was removed because one fo the towers collapsed during the winter. 

Waterin' Hole
​
2017

Waterin' Hole is a children's area for small kids.

Wave Swinger

1979

The oldest existing swing ride at Cedar Point can be found in Frontier Town. Wave Swinger swings its riders an astounding 31 feet above the ground!

Western Cruise 1964-1986

Western Cruse opened at Cedar Point in 1964. The ride took guest on a journey back into the days of the old west. The ride closed in 1986 and was recreated to the Gemini Midway and renamed Paddlewheel Excursions for the 1987 season. 

White Water Landing
​1982-2005

White Water Landing opened in 1982 in Frontiertown. White Water landing was the world's largest Hydro Flume that was ever built. It was considered Cedar Point's most themed ride. White Water landing was removed in 2005 to make room for Maverick. 

Wicked Twister

2002

Wicked Twister is the world's first and only double twisting Impulse coaster. Standing at 215 feet, Wicked Twister is the tallest impulse coaster ever built!

Wild Mouse
​1959-1962

Picture
Wild Mouse opened in 1959 on Cedar Point's Main Midway. It was the first roller coaster built at Cedar Point for adults since the Cyclone in 1929. The ride closed in 1962 to make room for bigger and better things. 

Wild Walleye
​2017

Wild Walleye is Cedar Point Shores's version of classic tube slides.

Wildcat 1970-1978

WildCat opened in 1970 on the Cedar Point Beach, It was a simple WildCat ride. It was moved to Valleyfair for the 2011 season. 

WildCat
1979-2011

In 1979 Cedar Point opened the new WildCat to replace the old one. WildCat was a small roller coaster that took riders thru sudden drops and tight turns. WildCat was removed in the spring of  2012 to make room for Celebration Plaza. 

Wilderness Run
2014

Take a ride thru the wilderness on Wilderness Run! Wilderness Run is 19 feet high. Built in 1979, it was Intamin's first roller coaster!

WindSeeker

2011

WindSeeker is a great thrill ride! Riders are taken up 301 feet and sun around at speeds of 30MPH! WindSeeker gives riders great views of Cedar Point, Sandusky and the Lake Erie Islands!

Witches' Wheel
​1977-2018

Picture
This was a fun and exciting new twist to the Ferris Wheel concept. Witches' Wheel opened in 1977 as part of the Corkscrew Midway expansion with Dodgem. It closed in 2018 due to age. 

Woodstock Express

1999

With the edition of Camp Snoopy in 1999, came Woodstock Express, Cedar Point's family coaster. Woodstock Express is Cedar Point's tallest children's coaster!

Spin around in a giant circle on Woodstock's Whirlybirds!

Xtreme Trampoline
​2004-2007

Extreme Trampoline opened in 2004 in Challenge Park. This ride was a giant trampoline. It closed in 2007 to make room for Skyscraper. 

Zoom Flume
​1995-2016

Zoom Flume opened in 1995 in Soak City. Zoom Flume was a raft ride that took riders a a journey that featured twisting curves. The ride was re-themed in 2017 to fit in with the new them of Cedar Point Shores Water Park. 

Zugspitze 1966-1971

Picture
Zugspitze opened at Cedar Point in 1966. It was located near Space Spiral. Zugspitze was a spinning ride that was similar to Super Himalaya. The ride closed in 1971.
